But there’s a way to improve the appearance of your teeth, and that is through a dental procedure called composite bonding, which we offer at our office in Marietta.
It is essentially the application of composite resin which is the same color as your teeth to repair any discolored, chipped, decayed and/or fractured teeth. It’s a cosmetic alternative to metal fillings, and it can be completed in just one visit to our office.
East Cobb Family Dentistry considers bonding to be one of the easiest cosmetic dental procedures, and it is also relatively inexpensive. We use composite resin because it can be shaped and polished to look like the rest of your healthy teeth, and it can be used to make the teeth whiter or to fix a chipped tooth. It can also be used to close the gaps between teeth. In some cases, we use composite bonding to protect a part of the root of the tooth which has been exposed due to gum problems.
Anyone who has discolored, chipped, fractured, gapped, crooked or short teeth may be a great candidate for this cosmetic dental treatment. Schedule a consultation today!
The first step is to schedule an appointment with us by calling (770) 501-7193. During your consultation, we will discuss your goals for the treatment. Then we will select the composite resin shade that matches the rest of your teeth.
Our dentist will then slightly etch the surface of your tooth or teeth and coat it lightly with a special solution to ensure that the bonding material will stick. We will then apply the composite resin, and we will mold it until it has achieved the desired shape.
Once the substance has hardened using a special laser light, it will be trimmed and shaped further, and then polished so that it has the exact sheen as all your other teeth.
The entire procedure takes no more than half an hour; however, it will take longer if composite bonding is performed on several teeth.
Composite bonding can last from 10 to 15 years. It’s without a doubt a very cost-effective way to achieve a beautiful smile.
